Located on the northern area of Tenerife, it has a surface area of 20,67 Km 2 and a population of 5 027, at a distance of 51,2 Km by road from Tenerife.

To the east, it limits with Los Realejos sharing the Tigaiga massif, to the south it is adjacent to La Orotava and to the west with La Guancha. Its coastal strip full of cliffs to the north, is mostly rocky with some beaches.
